CAA Niagara Sobeys Gift Card Contest Official Rules & Regulations

1. Sponsor

The CAA Niagara Sobeys Gift Card Contest (the "Contest") is sponsored and administered by CAA Niagara ("Sponsor").

2. Contest Period

The Contest begins at 12:00:01 a.m. ET on August 22, 2026 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on September 12, 2026 (the "Contest Period").

3. Eligibility

The Contest is open to legal residents of Ontario who:
  • Are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
  • Are active CAA Members in good standing at the time of entry and at the time of the prize draw.
  • Are not employees, officers, directors, agents, representatives, or immediate family members of CAA Niagara or any Contest partner, including Sobeys.
Void where prohibited by law.

4. How to Enter

Purchase Entry
During the Contest Period, purchase or reload a Sobeys gift card with a value of $100 CAD or more through CAA Niagara. Each qualifying transaction receives one (1) entry into the Contest.
No Purchase Entry
To enter without making a purchase, submit a handwritten essay of at least 100 words describing your favourite way to save money on groceries and mail it to:

Mail-in entries must be received by September 12, 2026.
Limit one (1) mail-in entry per person.

5. Entry Limits

  • Each qualifying $100 gift card purchase or reload receives one (1) entry.
  • Multiple qualifying purchases are permitted and will result in multiple entries.
  • Participants may only win one prize during the Contest Period.

6. Prize

There is one (1) prize available to be won:
  • One (1) Sobeys Gift Card valued at $1,000 CAD.
Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $1,000 CAD.
The prize:
  • Must be accepted as awarded.
  • Is not transferable.
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Is subject to the terms and conditions of the gift card issuer.

7. Winner Selection

A random draw will be conducted on or about September 16, 2026 from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
The selected entrant will be contacted by phone and/or email using the contact information associated with their CAA Membership account.

8. Winner Verification

To be declared a winner, the selected entrant must:
  • Correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question.
  • Sign and return a Declaration and Release form within the timeframe specified by CAA Niagara.
  • Meet all eligibility requirements.
If a selected entrant cannot be contacted, fails to answer the skill-testing question, fails to return required documentation, or is otherwise ineligible, an alternate entrant may be selected.

9. Privacy

By entering the Contest, participants consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information by CAA Niagara for the purposes of administering the Contest and awarding the prize in accordance with applicable privacy laws and CAA Niagara's privacy policy.

10. General Conditions

CAA Niagara reserves the right to:
  • Cancel, modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest if fraud, technical failures, or any other factor impairs the integrity or proper administration of the Contest.
  • Verify entrant eligibility and compliance with these rules.
  • Disqualify any entrant found to be violating these rules or tampering with the Contest process.

11. Limitation of Liability

CAA Niagara, Sobeys, and their respective affiliates, employees, officers, directors, agents, and representatives are not responsible for:
  • Lost, late, incomplete, illegible, delayed, or misdirected entries.
  • Technical failures of any kind.
  • Any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance of the prize.

12. Governing Law

The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations and shall be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
