CAA Niagara Announces the Latest Recipients of its Community Boost Program

THOROLD, ON (June 22, 2023) – CAA Niagara is thrilled to announce that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara and Wellspring Niagara have been selected as the 9th and 10th recipients of the club's Community Boost funding program.

Through the Community Boost commitment, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara and Wellspring Niagara have each been presented with a generous $10,000 cheque. Over the next 12 months, the two charities will receive various forms of marketing assistance, volunteerism and fundraising support from the club.

CAA Niagara also decaled a tow truck in each of the charities’ branding, further raising awareness for their causes.

“We are delighted to welcome another pair of integral organizations to our Community Boost family,” said Peter Van Hezewyk, President and CEO of CAA Niagara. “Both of these charities exhibit an unwavering dedication to supporting families and youth facing adversities in our community. Their missions not only align with our club’s core values, but also deeply resonate with our employees, as evident by the way they voted. We are excited to collaborate with these organizations to amplify their messages and expand their impact throughout Niagara.”

"Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara is thrilled to be a recipient of the CAA Community Boost program! Both CAA and Big Brothers Big Sisters have a strong history of community service in Niagara, and we are very excited to work together to ignite the power and potential of young people." said Erin Graybiel, Executive Director with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara. "This is yet another example of how we are truly BIGGER together as our agency relies heavily on the support from the community and local businesses."

“Wellspring Niagara is proud to be a recipient of the CAA Niagara Community Boost program,” said Ann Mantini-Celima, Executive Director of Wellspring Niagara. “Since 2001, Wellspring Niagara has been building a supportive cancer community, bringing free support to anyone with cancer at any point on their journey - patients, caregivers and kids.”

This year, CAA Niagara received nearly 60 Community Boost applications from local non-profits, each representing a significant need within the Niagara Region. The club’s internal Community Committee diligently reviewed the submissions and narrowed them down to a shortlist of finalists. All CAA Niagara employees were then given the opportunity to vote for two organizations that they felt best fit the club’s core values.

CAA Niagara would like to thank all the charitable organizations that submitted applications for the Community Boost program this year and encourages eligible candidates to apply again next year.
