CAA Niagara Expands its Business with the Acquisition of Niagara Airbus

THOROLD, ON (April 12, 2022) – CAA Niagara is thrilled to announce that on April 4, 2022, it acquired the long-running airport transport and sightseeing tour company, Niagara Airbus. In operation for 33 years with a fleet of over 40 vehicles, Niagara Airbus holds a reputation for providing exceptional transportation service to Niagara residents and visitors.

Serving more than 145,0000 Members across the region and continuously growing, CAA Niagara has recently been in search of local acquisition opportunities that complement its current roster of offerings. With roadside assistance and travel services being major pillars of the club’s business, Niagara Airbus was a natural fit for its portfolio. As part of the acquisition, Niagara Airbus has also become an official Member Benefit partner, with CAA Members receiving ten percent off when booking airport transportation services with the company.

“At CAA Niagara, we’re very proud of our 110 years of making a difference for Niagara residents and we’re excited to acquire a local business that’s also dedicated to serving our community,” said Janice Thomson, Board Chair, CAA Niagara. “We are currently putting a strong focus on innovation and business development. We’ve established a new innovation committee of our Board of Directors, and we are actively looking for ways to expand and grow the Niagara club for the benefit of our Members.”

Niagara Airbus will continue to operate as a separate entity, with no disruptions to its service or the continued employment of its staff. Paul Mountain, Executive Vice President of Niagara Airbus, will oversee the business’ day-to-day operations.

“We’re very excited to be joining the CAA Niagara family,” said Paul Mountain, Executive Vice President, Niagara Airbus. “From the initial conversation, it was clear that there was a strong synergy between our two businesses. Between our transportation services and CAA’s roadside and travel services, we collectively keep Niagara moving. This acquisition will allow us to continue providing the reliable service that we’re well-known for to our clients, while also taking the business to new heights.”

Peter Van Hezewyk, President and CEO, CAA Niagara commented: “During the coming months, our executive team will work closely with Niagara Airbus to explore new opportunities that allow us to drive value for CAA Members, Niagara Airbus clients and the greater Niagara community.”
